The bride and groom were greatly appreciative of Shaker culture that is prevalent near where they make their home in Albany, NY and wanted to incorporate the simplicity and handmade feel in their wedding invitation and beyond. I developed a few different motifs for them and we decided that the pairing of two patterns based on Shaker textiles and silhouettes of iconic Shaker chairs would be most versatile for their suite. Using simple typography, I created a monogram that showed the couple’s names and wedding date and featured the chairs and an oval of the pattern. I used these various elements on paper items throughout their wedding, from the save the date, to the pieces of the invitation, to the program, table numbers and favor labels on the big day. Having a uniquely crafted suite that represented their interests and aesthetics helped to make the entire experience more personal for them and tie various elements of the wedding together.
